How can I send an eCard to all my friends at once?
I can't retrieve my eCard!
I get a "Database Not Open" error message.
I can't hear any sound!

You would like to send an eCard to many recipients without retyping the eCard message each time.

Solution: Aetiket eCards supports multiple recipients. This is useful for invitations, Christmas cards, State of the Union addresses, etc. When you send an eCard to multiple recipients, each recipient receives their own eCard so that privacy is maintained.

To send an eCard to multiple recipients, simply separate the email addresses by a semicolon (;) such as shown below:

When sending eCards to multiple recipients, remember that the recipient name and salutation should be a general one, such as:
"Hi everybody!" "It's time for a party!" "All my friends"

I can't retrieve my eCard!

Possible reasons:

You hit the Return or Enter key on your keyboard instead of clicking with the mouse on the Retrieve eCard button.
Solution: enter your code and then click on the Retrieve eCard button.

Your eCard code was typed incorrectly
Solution: copy/paste the code from your email instead. This is the best method.

Your eCard code is out of date.
Solution: contact Aetiket eCards at ecard@aetiket.com to retrieve your eCard from the archives.

Your eCard got stomped on by merciless computer bugs and crashes.
Solution: contact Aetiket eCard at ecard@aetiket.com for support. Either forward your eCard email, or include the name and email of the person who sent you your eCard, and your eCard code.

I get a Database Not Open error message!

If you get a message like the one below, it's not your fault.

Inevitably, Aetiket eCards is sometimes down for maintenance and to improve functionality. This rarely lasts for longer than an hour, and usually takes place in the wee hours of the night (EST). The best solution is to come back in an hour or so: you will be rewarded with better performance, usually accompanied by improved features and content.

I can't hear any sound!

When everything is working correctly and Murphy is on other business, you should see a control bar similar to the one below:

If you have a control bar but you can't hear the music, it is likely that:

Your volume is turned down.
Solution: check your settings, knobs, etc.

Your administrator has disabled sound on the machines in your lab.
Solution: bring headphones to the lab, or whistle a favorite tune instead.

If you don't see a control bar as above, the following reasons may apply:

Your computer doesn't have enough memory available for the browser.
Solution: see if you have too many windows open or other programs running at the same time. You may wish to restart your computer.

You don't have a properly configured web browser.
Solution: The sound files included with some eCards are in midi format. This requires that you have a multimedia player installed and configured correctly on your computer. Most browsers come with such a player pre-installed (a plugin). Aetiket eCards recommends QuickTime. If you haven't yet installed QuickTime on your computer, do so now: it is still a free download.
